Validation of Step Activity Monitoring Device

This is centered on the validation of an accelerometer (the StepWatch) among older adults with varying types and degrees of functional disabilities. Collaboration between CYMA, faculty at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill; and members of the Erickson Foundation’s Research and Development Team.

Alternative At-Home Methods of Detecting Cognitive Decline

This study field tested three methodologies for detecting subtle cognitive decline among older individuals living independently at home. Orchestrated by Memory Disorders Program of The Georgetown University School of Medicine, with funding through the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center network.
